Our Week Ahead: May 14-18
I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day (despite the rain!). Grandpersons' Day is this Friday (5/18)! This is a fun day for students, grandparents, and grandpersons! Here are a few details about Friday:
*Drop off between 7:30 and 8:00 at the Palisades Country Club.
*Students should wear their formal Chapel uniforms and do not need to bring a book bag, snack, or folder.
*Chapel will start at 8:00. Please be on time. Students will sit with their class, while parents and grandpersons will sit in the audience.
*After Chapel we will ride the bus back to school. Parents and grandpersons will drive back and meet us in the classroom.
*We will do a special activity in the classroom. If you have more than one child, you can rotate to different classrooms.
*After the activity students may leave with their parents and grandpersons to go outside to the reception, have their picture taken, and visit the book fair.
*Students are allowed to leave with parents and grandpersons earlier than 12:00. Dismissal for all students is 12:00.
Devotions: Jesus Calling
Literature/Writing: Synonyms and Antonyms, small reading groups
Math: Ch. 9: Geometry - 3-d Figures
Social Studies: American Revolution: George Washington and Benjamin Franklin and their contributions to the War
Science: Earth Science: Volcanos and Geysers; the Rock Cycle: heat, pressure, and time
SWR: 20 spelling words.
PES Gives Back... As part of the PES mission, students are regularly engaged in school-wide and class organized service opportunities.
- This Wednesday help your child pack a waste free snack and lunch. Please bring items that may be recycled! In an effort to be earth-friendly we ask that parents and students do what they can to cut down on trash during lunch. We encourage you to purchase reusable lunch containers. More details about Waste-Free Wednesdays will be sent to you via email from the PES Nutrition Committee.
